“The Holiday Laser Show” is a multimedia display with choreographed laser beams, animation and light effects performed to holiday music and carols. Portions of this show have been featured for holiday engagements in Cincinnati, New Orleans, LA, Dallas, Corpus Christi, Houston, Waco and Austin. But the presentation here in San Antonio is the largest and most sophisticated ever designed by laserist extraordinaire, Tim Walsh.
Tim Walsh has collaborated with URBAN-15 in such technology events, most notably the opening ceremonies of the Texas Sesquicentennial in 1986 at the State Capitol for over 200,000 people and the World Empathy Conference in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
“The Holiday Laser Show,” a forty-five-minute presentation, is a family-oriented show with vivid laser animations and a dazzling aerial beam ballet. Music includes: “Carol of the Bells,” “Jingle Bells,” “Feliz Navidad,” “We Three Kings,” “I Wanna Hippopotamus for Christmas,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and many more holiday classics.
The show provides students an opportunity to experience a unique blend of art and science. Based on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge Skills for Pre-K-5 for Mathematics, Science, Music and Visual Arts, the show reinforces the principles of:
- Lighting and shadowing Color theory
- Storytelling Geometric shapes
- Perspective Contemporary and classical music awareness
- Electricity Rhythm
- Computer applications Melody
Proceeds from this concert series benefits URBAN-15’s many youth programs.
